Bobbi Jo Dillon Race Day

Central Coast local Bobbi Jo Dillion was diagnosed shortly after birth with Rett Syndrome, a neurological condition affecting speech, motor, and development. There is no cure for her condition which is progressively deteriorating. She is often plagued by ongoing medical complications, needing 24-hour care and assistance. Bobbi suffers seizures, osteoporosis, scoliosis, severe reflux, constipation and sleep apnoea. She will never walk or talk but communicates with her beautiful smile and eye gaze. She takes 11 different medications twice a day and due to various infections, she is often hospitalised for extended periods of time, where she is fed via a Gastrostomy and Jejunostomy tube.

To help Bobbi’s family with her ongoing medical costs, we had an idea to put on this charity fundraiser. The idea grew from there, with Principal Darin Butcher suggesting that we raise a house deposit for Bobbi Jo to purchase an investment property. This will help to offset her medical expenses and assist with her daily needs, helping to make her financially independent.

Wiseberry Heritage Group in conjunction with The Wiseberry Foundation hosted a Race Day on Thursday, 13th May 2021 at the Wyong Race Club to fundraise for a very special girl, Bobbi Jo. Through raffles, auctions and ticket sales, we managed to raise over $40,000 + This is an amazing achievement! Thank you to Wiseberry and the local Central Coast community for digging deep to help Bobbi Jo.
